Jill Strait is an art educator and painter/printmaker residing in Leominster, MA. She divides her time between public art projects during the warmer months, and works in her studio in the Winter. She spent 20 years teaching at local art organizations and assisting a public artist for 14 of those years. Her work focuses on musical instruments, patterns and nature. She paints instrument portraits for musicians and music lovers, of well-loved instruments surrounded by symbols, plants and designs that are meaningful to the musician. She also paints wall murals, sidewalk murals, Utility Boxes and the occasional piano. When she’s not making at, she’s playing banjo.
