About KRYSTLE BROWN

“My name is Krystle Brown (they/she), and I live in Salem. My work explores the connections between class, ancestry, place, environment, and labor, often embracing the role of family archivist and community documentarian. Combining these themes, I create multimedia installations, photography, and public art that explore the inherent power dynamics in these topics. Through my work, I ask the viewer to question their connection to where they live. Do you know the history of your city or neighborhood? Where do you fit in the junction of your own history, systems of power, and future-building?”
