Murals are the people’s art. My work is designed to uplift and reflect communities best selves back at them. I fell in love with the medium while living in Germany. I remember a mural of hands reaching towards Berlin’s highest ideals of freedom painted during the height of the cold war. It brought hope in dark times and defined the values of the community. As I grew in my artistry, I became determined to bring that impact of hope into my own work. My murals utilize strong light sources, patterns and strong colors. They enliven the spaces they reside. I love when I can incorporate chiaroscuro and other fine art techniques into my work. My work typically has many details in it and tells the story of why its there. Some of my work incorporates gilding. I am also passionate about Community Engaged Murals(CEM).
