The potential of the American Dream is the center of my subject for this mural. I focus on honoring the Indigenous land the country was founded on. I use the symbology of hair braids to reflect how eventually all things and beings are connected.
The American reality reflects years of perpetual wars, injustice and struggles. It encompasses many devastations in the world due to American policies. That said, we are human beings that learn, adapt and hopefully; evolve. To me, the American Dream is an Ideal world where there is always room to make peace instead of war, respect nature instead of destroying it, welcome all beings instead of alienating them; it means responsibility.
The Mural portrays the human spirit in a divine state; protected, transforming devastation and chaos into life.
