About Jacob Ginga

Jake “Makerjake” Ginga is an artist and educator from Massachusetts whose work explores identity, self-perception, and the ways we actively shape our sense of self. Growing up as an only child in a small town with divorced parents, he developed a deep interest in how personal experiences influence identity formation. Jake holds a Master’s in Education from Northeastern University and teaches 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders at the Field School in Weston, MA, where he encourages students to use art as a tool for self-expression and exploration. His artistic practice focuses on mixed media painting and large-scale murals, often incorporating bold colors, abstract portraits, and patterns to spark conversation and connection. Through both his teaching and his artwork, Jake aims to inspire others to embrace their evolving identities with creativity and intention. Follow Jake at @makerjake or visit his website.
