Duo Amazonas uses a Latin American aesthetic based on their origins (Colombian + Argentinian), elements of nature, symbolism, graphic design, and the human figure to bring their works of art to life. “We understand the mural as a place of reflection for us as women artists and as an active exchange with the public space and its inhabitants. Street intervention is a practice that, unfortunately, continues to be risky for many women today. We are interested in promoting the enrichment of work in the community and carry it out through the tool that moves us, painting.” Duo’s works are designed and developed with the participation of the local community in order to explore diverse and common narratives of their culture. With each mural they hope to encourage individuals to take action towards the common good of all.
