My girlfriend is originally from Puerto Rico, she moved here 6 years ago without anybody which is a daunting task, this piece depicts the internal struggle of leaving her home to go to a foreign place to better her life, the bird breaking away from the chains is symbolic to trusting your instinct and letting go of the worry that may be in your mind, the windows text box being clicked ok is showing that she has made the tough decision to up and go but will always be connected at home/her loved ones with technology that we have today.  Overall this piece shows how hard it is to leave but its all worth it in the end with the new experiences/growth that comes with a new start.
