Ever since I decided that I wanted to be an artist I knew that I wanted to use my talent and my hard work as a way to give a visual voice to those that grew up in circumstances like mine. The school district that I went to is considered one of the most diverse student populations in the state and yet growing up in my school system I never got to see that diversity within the school administration that was supposed to teach me. This includes the media I grew up with as well. So when the time came to decide what to do with our futures I knew I wanted to create artwork that spoke to everyone. And that everyone has to start with people that look like me and my family and the different cultures I grew up around in my childhood.
