The design is a tribute to the story of my partner, but also the story of so many immigrants.

He immigrated to the US from South India. As the eldest son, he carries with him the hopes and dreams of his family, and the responsibility for their livelihood.

The flowers represent the fulfillment of his American Dream through access to better opportunities and better facilities, and success in achieving a better quality of life. He continues to work hard to make a better life for himself and for his family back home.

The flowers overflow to reach those before him who have toiled and sacrificed, positioning their son for success (represented as hardened figures on the vase).

While the colorful arrangement is seen in full bloom—his unwavering dedication to continued growth in his studies and career, along with increasing familial expectations has come at an unseen cost of mental health struggles (represented by the blue background).
