Tormenta en la Cancha

North Shore CDC approached the community to discuss how to develop this once unkept space, and the local children advocated for a basketball court. After the first renovation, we worked in collaboration with the Peabody Essex Museum and New Craft Artists in Action to develop Tormenta en la Cancha or “Storming the Court” where artist Maria Molteni worked closely with neighborhood children who drew elements that they wanted in their court such as basketballs, sun, water, lightning, and everything that you see in the final piece.
