child of the ghetto

the inspiration of my piece is looking at the world through the eyes of a child of color. the child is seen holding a cup and drinking from it which signifies “growth and knowledge” passed down from parents, ancestors or community, giving him the tools to face this new world. equipped with only this “knowledge and communion” the child is subjected to be part the “system” in hopes to truly live in a “free world”.
